Jean completed her Master’s in Physical Therapy and Bachelor in Kinesiology at the University of British Columbia. She is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA and a Certified Pilates Instructor and Yoga Instructor, bringing a holistic and evidence-based approach to physiotherapy.
With a multi-faceted perspective, Jean examines the whole body to identify contributing factors to injury and sub-optimal function. She is passionate about helping patients recover from acute and chronic injuries, prevent future injury, and optimize performance. Jean believes that “physical therapy extends beyond rehabilitation; it is a lifelong pursuit of optimizing the body for the future.” She recognizes that to recovery optimally, the entire body needs to be in harmony. In 2021 she pursued her acupuncture training to address factors such as poor sleep, anxiety and mood. She is also certified in IMS Dry needling, NKT Level 1, Mulligans and Ortho Level 1. Her treatments integrate hands-on manual therapy, dry needling, acupuncture, therapeutic exercise, and movement re-education, tailored to each patient’s goals and needs. She will often incorporate clinical mat and reformer pilates and resistance based exercises into her treatments.
Being active all her life, Jean completed several marathons before finding her love for strength training and bodybuilding. She is a Bikini Competitor and was a Provincial Record holder in Powerlifting. Movement, for Jean, is two-fold: she loves exploring her own physical potential and guiding and empowering others to move optimally.
Whatever phase you are in, Jean is excited to be on your team. She is fluent in English and Mandarin, and sees patients of all ages and abilities.
